About me

I love what I do.

I’m passionate about taking creative and emotive images—images that are bespoke, modern and engaging. Images that are unique and truly represent you, your brand and your values.

My photographic style is contemporary with a preference of working ‘on location’ with you, in your natural working environment, enabling me to truly capture spontaneous and natural imagery.

I have a relaxed, polite and friendly approach which supports my documentary style photography. This is great for the increasing demand for more contemporary environmental portraits that feel alive and show personality. It’s a natural fit for capturing events, such as concerts, shows, award ceremonies or networking receptions, creating images that evoke the essence of being there.

I’m delighted to take on commissions, working with you on a formalised brief to create strong, emotive images. Images that can be used for photographic libraries to support your brand and used in collateral such as annual reports, websites and brochures or marketing, advertising and poster campaigns.

Warren, thanks so much for the amazing pictures you took of me at the BBC. You put me completely at ease and really captured the ‘radio moment’ in your photos! I’ll definitely be in touch when I need more taken! All the best, Jonathan Vernon-Smith.

Warren you’re so lovely to work with! You somehow managed to put me at ease and then capture the most natural moments beautifully! Not easy in a studio setting with lots going on and bits of equipment to negotiate! I LOVE my pictures. They are exactly what I wanted and I can’t wait to get them on my website! You really captured ‘me’! I can’t wait to work with you again!

FAQ

How long have you been working as a professional photographer?
I have been working as a professional photographer for over 5 years. Prior to this I graduated from Canterbury University with a Fine Art and Marketing degree. I pursued a career in Marketing and Market Research, working for a range of large and small companies across a variety of market sectors. This has given me a good understanding of what marketeers need from images and how they can make a positive contribution to their business. It has also given me a good foundation of working within a corporate environment.
What areas do you cover?
My primary focus is in London and surrounding counties including Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire. However, I am happy to work UK wide.
What type of work do you do?
This is another reason I love my work—I get to meet an eclectic mix of people across a range of locations undertaking a variety of different photo-shoots.

Here are some examples of the wide range of different commissions I have worked on with corporate clients, starting with on location environmental portraits.

  • Office based staff; conducting meetings, answering calls and managing desk based activities
  • Public sector front line workers; out and about in the community, issuing parking tickets, enforcing laws, litter picking and planting trees.
  • Retail and hospitality industry; serving and managing customers
  • Fitness instructor; in the gym putting clients through their paces
  • A sports coach, in the boxing ring, training keen students
  • DJ’s and Voice over artists; in the studio, bars and clubs
  • As well as a psychologist engaged in conversation, a ballet teaching advising pupils and an author in her favourite writing spot!

Documenting events is still key to many of my clients and I’m delighted to work with them on a variety of events including networking receptions, award ceremonies and conferences. Shows and concerts; in theatres and outside festivals as well as; markets and community fun days.

I’m delighted to receive briefs for a more detailed commissions and have worked on creating photographic libraries and campaigns providing clients with a bespoke collection of photographs covering people and places that represented the organisation and their brand values, rather than depending on static and bland stock imagery.

My images are suitable for all media channels and can add value to your on and offline presence; through your websites, social media as well as more traditional print collateral such as reports, brochures and posters.

What is your photographic style?
My photographic style is contemporary with a preference of working ‘on location’ with you, in your natural working environment, enabling me to truly capture spontaneous and natural imagery.

I have a relaxed, polite and friendly approach which supports my documentary style photography.

Some people can feel uncomfortable in front of the camera, it’s really important for me to work with them to ensure that they feel relaxed, comfortable and at ease. This enables me to capture their true likeness and personality, creating an image that they feel confident and happy with.

How do you approach a photographic brief?
A strong brief is key to ensuring you really get what you want from your photographic commission—I’ll work closely with you to ensure that I fully understand what’s required and that you get the creative images you need.

For more in-depth commissions; like a campaign or a photographic library it’s really good to have some back ground information; including your objective and expected deliverables.

For all jobs I’ll supply high and low res files so you can use this across digital media and print productions. However, it’s great to know what the images will be used for. Particularly if this is something like a poster campaign. It’s essential to know information like where your logo should go or if you want an image to fit into a specific design—this way I can ensure the composition will fit perfectly with your creative vision.

If you have a specific mood you would like to create or wish to evoke this is really important. This will help me to give advice on the best time of day to shoot as well as enable me to decide which equipment to bring.

A shot list can be really helpful, especially for events. For example if there are VIP’s you really need a shot of let me know, or for example you’d really like images of the refreshments or decorations please add them to the list.

With any brief I will look at what’s require in terms of actual shooting and post editing production and agree a clear timeline for delivery. Typically for events I’ll provide a selection of images for social media and press within 24 hours of the shoot, for campaign work this can range between 1–3 weeks depending on the scope of the job.

What is your copyright agreement?
As the photographer I maintain the copyright ownership of the images. However, it’s really important for me that my clients get the most out of the images that if they have commissioned. Therefore there are no license agreements or restrictions on use. I do ask that if these images are used by a third party that they are credited to me.
What is your price?
Depending on the scope of the job I offer hourly, half day and full day rates. For larger commissions such as Campaigns I would offer a package price to ensure best value for money.
What is your turnaround time from taking the images to delivery?
This will vary dependent on the brief and scope of the work, deadlines will be agreed prior to the commission undertaken.

Typically for events I’ll provide a selection of images for social media and press within 24 hours of the shoot, for campaign work this can range between 1–3 weeks depending on the scope of the job.

Are you DBS checked/hold a DBS certificate?

Who I am

Based in Bedfordshire, but covering London, the home counties and beyond I am a freelance Photographer specialising in a natural reportage style approach to weddings, lifestyle portraiture and corporate commissions.

My registered address is:

2 Lea Road
Ampthill
Bedfordshire
MK452PR

You can contact me by writing to that address or by emailing me at warren@warrencooperphotography.com

Your personal data I collect

When you first get in touch with me, it’s usually via the contact form on my website, via email, or mobile phone. I collect your names, wedding date and venue and closer to the wedding date I often collect names of some key people attending your wedding and emergency contact numbers, should I require it on the day (I never do but it’s just a precaution!). All of this is information I need to perform my job. Sometimes I also connect via FaceTime for meetings, in which case we have access to each other via webcam and those particular contact details too.

If I collected your email address from a wedding fayre then I will probably send a couple of emails due to verbal permission being given at the time. If this turns into a booking then your data will be stored as described below. If it doesn’t then the information is deleted soon after.

Collection and storage of your personal data

When you first get in touch with me, it’s usually via the contact form on my website, via email, or mobile phone.  As a result I would communicate with you via email and occasionally by mobile phone too. I use Amazing Internet Ltd and currently with EE, both companies are also GDPR compliant.

If you make an initial enquiry with me and don’t go ahead with booking me, I will follow up with one email and then proceed to delete you from my email system so that your data is no longer stored.

Payments to me are 99% of the time via a bank transfer will show in my business bank account in the normal way. On the rare occasion I receive a cheque, this will be deposited in the normal way. I don’t see your payment details, only the amount, names and/or the reference you choose to show.

Use of your data

I will use the above mentioned data to communicate with you about your wedding, sometimes I also like to inform you of any discounts I may have for albums and for other wedding-related communication.

Your data is never shared with anyone else. On the occasion that you have booked a second photographer via myself to attend the wedding. They will receive an itinerary of the day and the emergency contact details incase they need it. This is in paper and email form and will be deleted after the event.

Sometimes I enter wedding photographs into competitions, this is usually without any input being needed from yourself, but if I win it means your photographs will be shared across various online platforms. I will always ask your permission to enter your wedding photographs into competitions and your acceptance of this would indicate you are also happy for it to be shared in this way.

Photographs

As photography is my work you can expect me to ‘collect’ photographs on your wedding day. These photographs are stored on memory cards during the day and backed up on disk drives thereafter. I typically store your wedding photographs for 1-2 years before removing them.

Occasionally suppliers from your wedding, for example your florist, venue or hair stylist asks for photographs, for their own use, in this instance they are given access to the online gallery. They firstly have to receive permission from yourself and thereafter you have to refer to their own privacy policy as to how they handle the photographs once in their hands.

In order to run my business I share online, predominantly on Facebook, Google +, LinkedIn and on my website. I sometimes use photographs on my business cards, banners and brochures when attending wedding fayres.

I often share weddings I shot many years ago, so if you have had a wedding shot by me in the past and no longer want me to share them for any reason, you can simply get in touch to withdraw your permission.

However, if you want to withdraw your consent to this you can simply do so via email, this email will be stored and adhered to. It is perfectly reasonable to want to keep your wedding photographs private.
